About: Emmanuel is a planetary health enthuse with interest in addressing economic disparity and communicating risks and uncertainties to leadership. He helps organizations with understanding their nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities. He is seasoned data scientist and Epidemiologist with about 10 years of experience in both private and public health sectors. His expertise encompasses data management, monitoring and evaluation, and data analysis. At the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, he played a key role in the deployment and maintenance of technology systems for over 30 Subnational Public Health Emergency Operations Centres (PHEOC), while mentoring frontline responders and employing systems thinking to address complex problems. He co-led the US CDC-supported Growing Expertise in E-health Knowledge and Skills (#GEEKs)developing the data management capacity of three cohorts drawn from three sister agencies in the Ministry of Health. In the private sector, he has consulted as mHealth Data manager at PharmAccess and Social Media Analyst at United Bank for Africa. A fellow of the African Alliance Digital Health Leadership Program, Emmanuel holds COBIT2019, PRINCE2, and Microsoft Solutions Associate certifications. Emmanuel applies his extensive background in IT, data science, and public health, as well as his systems thinking skills, to drive innovation and improve health outcomes for communities worldwide. He is well grounded in Public Health Emergency Management, a fellow of the PHEM professional development program. Pre-COVID he was appointed an IM during a simulation exercise for Global Pandemic Influenza. He has led and coordinated Epidemic Intelligence meetings to critically appraise signals and event that meet critical information requirements as well as essential elements of information to maintain situation awareness for infectious diseases. Consulted as a moderator about 100 signals for Antimicrobial resistance in Africa at ProMED-AMR network. He holds a diploma in Infrastructure Management from NIIT, a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Benin, and a Master of Science in Public Health (Epidemiology track) from the University of Lagos. He is also a Flemingfund Antimicrobial Resistance fellow and currently pursuing a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) at Interfaculty Initiative for Planetary Health, Nagasaki University, Japan, focusing on carbon credits and vulnerability reduction for low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) using ecosystem and community-based approaches in land use change.
